TREATMENT
The story is set in 2020 Nashville, Tennesse USA at a senior university house party. The two students, Jane, the IT Student and Oskar, the philosophy student are having a communication when suddenly a TV news headlines disrupt their attention. The News is mentioning these codes of life, which sparks a debate between Jane and Oskar. Jane is sure that this is just another manipulation made by the media whereas Oskar is convinced that there is such existence of ‘Codes’ and there is a way of obtaining this in order to gain what you desire.
After they have left the party, Jane and Oskar witness an unusual car accident. The car is destroyed due to hitting the tree at full speed. They then begin to see a man walk out the car, unharmed walking across the road without seeking additional help or medical assistance. Oskar and Jane then notice the alleged said car is nowhere to be seen and has strangely disappeared. Terrified by what they have witnessed, Jane is curious to investigate further whereas Oskar just wants to go home as soon as possible.
The very next morning, Oksar goes to visit Jane and they decide on planning a trip to Hollywood to seek further answers about ‘Codes’.
A month later, they decide to fly back to Hollywood only this time to join a group called ‘Party Crushers Group”, a group with the purpose of crashing celebrities parties in hopes of gathering information about Codes from celebrities.
Jane and Oskar have encountered Miley Cyrus, who claims that only the older generation is able to access the Code as well as mentioning the dangers these codes have. However, Miley is very careful to not slip away the information on what to type to obtain these codes.
Jane and Oskar decide to extend their Hollywood stay in order to investigate on how exactly they can acquire these codes, by further crashing more Hollywood parties; alas they are unfortunately unsuccessful in doing so.
On the last day of their trip, Oskar and Jane unexpectedly run into a boy band who gives them a hint on you can attain these codes. To their surprise, achieving this is fairly simple, by just having to type the code into google would provide you with the relevant code.
Without wasting any further time, Jane and Oskar head to the Google Headquarters to type out the code, However, Oskar is hesitant in doing so since he is aware of the negative consequences the code has. Jane, on the other hand, is excited and thrilled that the codes are in fact real and what to type them despite Oskars reluctantly and the outcomes it bears.
They are still unaware of the whole procedures once the codes have been typed and how this will their life supposedly for the better. This has made Oskar very worried whereas Jane has left everything on faith and hope.
At the end of the movie, we see that Jane has encountered what could be a coincidence of an advertisement which claims it can make her become rich simply by providing the best movie idea for Ten Thousand Dollars. And suddenly, the plot of the movie has come to light.

Jane is a 21 year old student who somewhat resemblances the characteristics of Hermione Granger from Harry Potter- by being confident, smart and sarcastic. He holds very theoretical perspectives and backs his arguments with their being a higher power.
REFLECTIVE REPORT
In the beginning, I was reluctant about what to expect from this module. However, once getting told that we were going to have the opportunity to write a script, made me thrilled. Especially since this is something which I have taken an interest since I was a young child; I remember on many occasions writing my own versions of scripts and posting them out to local TV stations in hopes that one day they would bring one of my stories to life. Alas, this did not happen but I did get the occasional gratitude from them, Despite not having any knowledge on fundamentals of writing a script still did not take away my passion for writing one regardless.
The idea for my script came from a sudden question I had whilst playing the famous computer game, Sims. “What if there was the possibility of having codes for our real life which would allow us to redirect the whole course of our existence?” Not only did the sims contribute to my curiosity, but also movies such as ‘catch me if you can’, ‘ex machina’ and ‘ghost shell’ all shared the similar concepts the protagonist obtaining cheat codes of a Utopia concept world.
Each lecture allowed me to improve and enhance my writing skills since the lectures focused on different aspects of the creative world- from constructing each character to evaluating on how to reach the scripts to producers. Each lecture spoke about various techoncal factors which come along writing scripts. This is increbildy advantageous for me since it allowed me to be aware of how I could further benefit in the upcoming future. I also evaluated the different level of movie productions and came to conclude that those movies of low budget require the most attention and have the most creativity. The genre which resonates with me is Science Fiction since this is a topic which I particularly enjoy and believe it more so challenges my creativity, both as a writer and director as opposed to the other genres.
I must admit, it was difficult when assigned to write our outline for our very own script. I suffered from writer's block especially when it came to concluding the end of my story. Which in turn made me indecisive on which way I would direct this- through a series or a movie. But as I kept writing my script, the narrative came to me itself and unfolded every struggle I had. I have opted to end the movie on an easy message; “what is the most visible is sometimes the least visible.’
When it came to writing the drafts, I assumed it was of good standard but in comparison to my peers, I felt it was inadequate and the structure was improper. Once I amended the structure, I made whole more changes to the dialogues which in turn created a detailed storyline than I had anticipated. Which of course resulted in me to have a lot more pages than required, as such having to cut down on the parts which I deemed irrelevant.
I did struggle in constructing the characters and refrained from making them the generic boy/ girl narrative you tend to see in every movie. I particularly wanted Janes character to be a strong female lead who had an equal part in the story as Oskar. I wanted both the characters to possess powerful personalities and not execute Jane as Oskar’s sidekick which is a reoccurring theme in a lot of the movies like Indiana Jones, James Bond.
I also did not want to place all the focus on a romantic story between the two protagonists, however, I did want to portray an element of chemistry between the two. Both their personalities are clashing since they both maintain an independent, sarcastic and confident attitude. However, their perception of the world is two worlds apart, which ultimately creates everlasting debates and differing arguments. Jane is also convinced that every man is the same as she confirms in dialogue” Are you looking for parties in Hollywood? Ahh guys” but Oskar frequently surprises her in many aspects, which of course pride gets the best her and as such does not admit it aloud. The personality of Oskar is similar to my brother, which inspired me to generate the character of Oskar personality. While Jane is a fictional character made and not neccarly based on anyone. This is because as the story goes on, Jane’s personality starts to change from being the “down to earth” girl into someone who performs life without the fear of repercussions.
My feedback was positive for the most part, I was given some feedback which all in all was beneficial for my story. There was also some criticisms which did not necessarily sit well with me. I was told the part where meeting the celebrities seems a little far fetched. Although I’m open to any judgements this is something which did not make sense to me. My story is based around a Hollywood party where the of meeting a celebrity is very likely as opposed to encountering a celebrity on the street. However, it did make me reevaluate my whole narrative, and consider plot lines to balance out the ratio of realistic and unrealistic. In addition, comparing notes with other students did improve my work as it allowed me to see my strengths and weaknesses.
To conclude, writing and knowing the depths of the script work was all in all a very enjoyable and teachable moment for me. Though it goes without saying that there is still room for improvements, which can be changed by more practice and feedback. I think the last lecture was an extremely helpful moment, as it gave me the opportunity to see clearly what my strengths and weaknesses were as a whole- which puts things in a little more perspective. Though I relatively enjoy feedback and constructive criticism on my work, this is something I cannot conduct on someone else script. Solely because I think writing scripts to some degree is a personal art which cannot be judged and limited. Albeit, I tried my best and simultaneously gave me the excuse to learn what I can and should not do for when I am writing scripts.
