POETIC piece

Poetic piece is the next project which we are creating by using footages which we filmed on our trip to Rassay in Scotland.

The whole trip was about focusing on what we see and feel and it's allowed us to create a folder of footages which anyone can use for their purposes of doing this project.

My video will be non representative and I really want it to be up for interpretation.

The video will go along with breath like every next footage is a the aftermath of the coming breath.

As it's poetic piece I thought I will write a short poetry my self, I actually didn't think about that I just did impulsively one night,

The poem I wrote in Scotland:

What do u see when u look at the moon?

Is it abstraction or is the the wond ?

How many creatures will I see in a milky way?

Can i trust them or I should be afraid?

The mountains looks like they touching the sky

but its just impressions they'e always a lie

beautiful from far ,but terrifying so inside...

cause you could be the one who never came back

What do u see when you look at the moon?

Is it abstraction or is the the wond ?

I wanted it to be also tripy and eye catching so I decided to play along with colors.

This is the first version:

On the lecture I heard that I need to delete the music which made me think that I should probably make more expressive cut to make it more alive when watching with no sound.

I'm also planning on creating a soundscape for this piece and delete some of the stable footages which seems to distort the sensation.

Video inspirations:

Also I was decided between doing an experimental piece full of colors and abstract images or simple black & white video with good balance and big contrast.

I still might improve this version or do the second one.

LAST CHANGES:

I decided to keep the video in colours and make it looks really like underwater.

For this kind of effect I needed to play a lot with sounds. It took me a lot of time

to find the best sounds in the video and check my voice message app to download all I Need.

Next I was experimenting with speed and echo, choirs, delay of the individual pieces of soundscape. In the end I decided also to add sounds of seals, rain and sand as it gives more of a " alive feeling".

I cut of the unnecessary footage and left all in one "underwater" style.

I also made the colours bit darker than in last version.

THE FINAL VERSION:

DESCRIPTION :

Reality?

‘Reality?’ is a  poetic piece which is non representative short film and I really want it to be up for interpretation.

The piece was made after visiting Rassay island in Scotland where together with colleges we’ve collected the necessary footage. The video contains footage of water and nature (forest and plants). Repetitive changing colors give the film a metaphorical wave that comes every time with the color comes and goes away in natural shades. Sound in the movie gives it a bit of a feeling what is happening or is about to happen.

Your contribution to the curate project was good. You were involved in creating and editing 360 video content within your themed group and the outcome of these films are good. You also showed interest in learning how to use Wonda. Having said that, there could have been more involvement within more aspects of the Wonda project. There was no real evidence of the Curate project on your blog which should have included reflections, technical process and influences.

There was a really strong immersive imagery in this piece with use of filters and colour manipulations to give a really emotive sense of place. The soundscape worked well also and gave the piece some depth of feeling. The impact of all this was an unusual blending of land and sea so that there was no separation between the two and this was taken through in the sound also with what sounded like fire and water fusing together. The very elemental features were enough to sustain this and there was an overburdening of shots to the extent that they should have been reduced, it felt there was too many disparate shots at times. Overall this was a good attemp…
