My first project to submit is a sound task.
The task is to found/record special sounds which we are surrounded by, and combine them together to create an original soundscape.
The soundscape will be later shown on our exhibition and the aim is to shock and interest people around.

Collecting the sounds
First thing I needed to do was to collect some interesting sounds.
In the beginning I was recording just every little thing around me, but while we were experimenting on lectures with editing and analyzing soundscapes efficiency I realize that this task is much more thought-provoking that I expect and it can help me explore new way of looking at what is around me and furthermore help me with my music projects which I'm planning to do in the future.
On Soundcloud I'm attaching versions of my soundscape to see how it evolve with time.

My thoughts
While thinking about this task, I reminded myself a movie which I watched some time ago,
"We are your friends" (ft. Zach Efron) which touches on the subject of sound, tempo and music. The main character is a DJ and thanks to knowledge about the rhythm and sounds etc. he can "control" crowds at parties which allows him to purchase his career. At the end of the movie, he decides he wants to immortalize his story with a real sounds instead of using ready-made samples. He go to the city and record anything that inspires him by him own which gives him in the end a very original resultant.
My first version of the project is done, but now I need to experiment and develop my idea further.
I was using Adobe Audition in the past a lot usually to make sounds clear and nice for films, vlogs, dialogs etc. in this task I needed to do almost exactly opposite by searching for effect which will make the sound become unrealistic and dramatic. I'm happy that with help of other classmates we could explore the effects which can make sounds sound like from 'Star Wars' etc. which is pretty cool ability when thinking about future film soundscapes.
Our Exhibition will take place this Thursday at 16:00

Final Soundscape Exhibition
For our first assignment after creating a shocking soundscapes we had a task to go to the street and put our soundscape very loud so the whole street can hear it.
My Thoughts:
The reactions of people were very funny, and regarding my own soundscape someone asked"Is this for sure uni work :P?" and that's kinda reaction I was hoping to get so I'm really satisfied. The other lady was asking " what's going on?" and " what's the purpose of this task"?It was fun to answer her "The purpose is for you to asked us what's the purpose".

I realize on big speakers some of the sounds sound differently than home when I was listening it on small speaker or headphones. For example in the end of my project I put a very loud crushing sound which on the street didn't sound that spectacular at all.
Other thought which I had was that people are much more interested in some artificial sounds than sounds of nature or voice - I guess then they consider it just as a movie or something.
Sound - There are some interesting observations here. You should put up a new post called ‘Submission – Sound Project’ with your final work on there so that it can be found easily for assessment.
